Connect Mad Ad Slingers to Zapier
Mad Ad Slingers connects to 9,000+ apps through Zapier, so leads and campaigns can flow in and out of your agency automatically — no code required.
What you need
- A Mad Ad Slingers account
- A Zapier account (free or paid)
- A Mad Ad Slingers API key (see step 1)
Step 1: Get your API key
- Sign in to the client portal at portal.mad-ad-slingers.com
- Open Settings → API Keys
- Request a key (give it a name like "Zapier lead sync") — keys are approved by our team
- Once approved, your key appears on that page. It starts with
mas_live_
Key scopes matter:
- read — required for triggers and searches (Get Leads, Find Lead, analytics is separate)
- write — required for actions that create or update (Create Lead, Create Campaign, status updates)
- analytics — required for the Get Analytics Summary search
If a Zap fails with a permissions error, check that your key has the scope that step needs.
Step 2: Connect in Zapier
- In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose Mad Ad Slingers as the trigger or action app
- When Zapier asks you to sign in, paste your API key
- Zapier tests the key against your account — you'll see your connection listed as "Mad Ad Slingers (…last 6 characters of your key)"
Step 3: Pick a trigger or action and turn on your Zap
Pick a trigger or action (see tables below) and turn on your Zap.
Triggers check for new records every few minutes (polling). Nothing is sent anywhere until you turn the Zap on.

New Campaign sends: campaign ID, name, type, status, budget, target audience, start/end dates, platform campaign IDs (Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn), business ID, created/updated times.

Troubleshooting
"Mad Ad Slingers API error 401" — Your API key is missing, revoked, or pasted incorrectly. Re-copy it from Settings → API Keys in the portal, or rotate the key there and reconnect in Zapier.
"Mad Ad Slingers API error 403" — Your key doesn't have the scope that step needs. Triggers/searches need read, create/update actions need write, and Get Analytics Summary needs analytics. Ask for a key with the right scopes.
My trigger isn't firing — Triggers poll, so give a new lead or campaign a few minutes to appear. Also check your filters: a Status or Business ID filter that doesn't match the new record means the Zap correctly skips it.
Create Lead fails — First name, last name, and a valid email are required by the API. Check those three fields are mapped in your Zap.
Create Campaign created a draft — That's by design. Campaigns created through Zapier always start as drafts and never spend until you launch them inside Mad Ad Slingers.
Find Lead / Find Campaign returns nothing — Searches look through recent records (the newest ~150). Very old records may not be found; try Get Leads / Get Campaigns, or narrow by status.
FAQ
Does connecting Zapier cost extra? No — API access is included; you only need your own Zapier account, and Zapier's free plan works for light use.
Can Zapier launch my campaigns or spend money? No. Create Campaign makes drafts only, and nothing spends until you launch it in Mad Ad Slingers yourself.
How do I disconnect? Revoke the API key in the portal (Settings → API Keys) or remove the connection inside Zapier. Revoking the key stops all Zaps using it.
Which business do records go to? If a step has a Business ID field and you leave it blank, records use the API key owner's first business.
